Ok CreSoc people, I challenge you all to share what ten books have had the greatest influence on you all and why. Thank you to Hannah Lizzie Sowden our secretary, for starting us off. Heres my list (in no particular order): 1) Rebecca - the first grown up novel I ever read and still one of my favourites. 2) Harry Potter - because we are the HP generation. 3) The Night Before Christmas - I dont know if this counts, but every Christmas Eve this was read to me, my brother and sister. 4) The Historian - my favourite novel ever! 5) Inkeart - I love the way that Cornelia Funke doesnt talk down to her younger readers, meaning her stories can be enjoyed by all ages. 6) The Great Gastby - this one doesnt need any explanation. The love, the friendship, the ending...sob! 7) Pompeii: Life of a Roman Town - I read this while studying classics at ALevel and I have to say that if anyone insults Mary Beard in front of me I get very upset...shes amazing. This book is amazing. Even if youve never studied classics you will love it. 8) A Series of Unfortunate Events - because these books made me realise that there is more than one way to tell a story and also taught me loads of random words! 10) Jane Eyre - if you know me, you know I love Jane Eyre. I know people struggle with it, but, I just love Rochester and that moment Reader, I married him. well...sigh!
