Ok George Osborne... a nice new theatre complex for Manchester costing millions. Well thanks.. We at the Reality Party love the arts we like the fact that this investment would provide a venue for such but is it really necessary...?. After all we have these venues already the Lowry for example... We feel that the vast amount of money planned for Manchester first promised in 2013 could and infact should be spent in other areas. Manchester has one of the highest levels of homelessness for example. In Salford we dont have a midwife service. Unemployment is rife. Our NHS service needs investment.. apparently David Cameron is also going to invest 2 billion here..!. Libraries being closed down. Social housing. fire services being squeezed. Police also under threat. Disabled people loosing benefits.. The bedroom tax.. GP surgeries under massive strain.. The list is almost endless.. We feel that theres a matter of priorities and a nice new shinny theatre complex although that would be lovely is way down the list. As Bez said last night on Channel 4 news this seems like nothing more than pre election promises that will never come to fruition.
