Ok, I have a question for all my backwoods builder friends. As many of you know, Im remodeling my house that was built in 1904. I am almost ready to pull the new wiring in the house. I have started thinking ahead to the insulation. In the spirit of keeping it green and saving a ton of money, I want to try to use corrugated cardboard (cut into strips that will fit between the framing) to insulate the outside walls of the house. I have a supply of it from work that I can get for free. I can cut them into strips on a table saw. I also can get a supply of clear 30 gallon trash bags from work for free. I could use these between the lap siding and the cardboard to insure that no water gets to the cardboard. What do you think? Thoughts about using this and the pitfalls of it as well.
