Ok I have a rant that just cannot wait til I release my Festivus list. Keep in mind as you read this rant that I am a pagan. I think Jesus Christ was a great guy, and we would be way better off if more people followed his teachings, but I am not a Christian according to the rule books. Ok heres my rant: I am so sick of watching people try to take Christ out of Christmas. For the love of Pete the word Christ is in the actual name of the holiday!!! If you want to say Happy Holidays, great. If you would rather say Happy Chanukah, awesome. If you feel the need to say Blessed Yule, wonderful. But dont be pissed about someone saying Merry Christmas, just because its not your holiday. In case you didnt know, the world does not revolve around you. Yes, this country was founded on freedom OF religion (not the same as freedom FROM religion in case you were wondering). And just as I dont want to be persecuted for the fact that I dance naked under the moon (I dont really, but thats what everyone thinks when you say youre pagan) I dont want to watch Christians have their religion dictated to them by others. There is nothing wrong with a Christmas celebration being about *gasp* CHRIST!!! Again his name is over 50% of the holidays title!!! That would be like thinking its dumb that Toys-R-Us sells toys. You can see it in the title, why would you assume any different? And if you dont like Christmas, dont celebrate!!! Its not freakin mandatory! Its a Christian HOLY DAY, that you get gifts for because its been hijacked by the retailers, and youre pissed because Christians want to keep Christ in it?!?! Are you stupid? I could declare tomorrow Baconmas. I could lay out Baconmas traditions for people who want to celebrate. I could organize Baconmas parades. I could buy Baconmas presents for people. I could greet people I meet with Merry Baconmas. What the hell do you think the holiday is gonna be about? And how happy do you think the people who celebrate Baconmas are gonna be if you try to make Baconmas about something other than Bacon?!?! Happy Tofuidays anyone?? So to sum up my rant...Dont like Christmas? Good, stay the hell out of it. Its not your holiday anyway. Oh, and Merry Baconmas!
