Ok I have to say this... I may be bias because Ive had family - TopicsExpress

Ok I have to say this... I may be bias because Ive had family members and countless friends killed, or attacked maliciously with no justice but Im a bit troubled by what Im seeing and hearing on the news. I was talking to my sister Shanaye Monique earlier about a case I just read about, where a NINE year old was shot by a young BLACK man that was much older than he and I just had a thought... Now they found his killer, but had they not, Im sure there would be no protests, no rallys, no radio announcements about bringing justice to his killers. This happens all the time and they GET OFF, or are never found because of the SAME justice system that let off Michael Browns killer as well as others without justice or a fair trial.... My nephew is 7... in two years he will be 9... Even though I know God and believe in His protection, it is still scary, and heart wrenching to know that a 9 year old, so close to Jordans age, could be in a gang and his parents have to deal with the terror of their child being shot and killed at age 9. And I may get a lot of flack for this, but its my opinion and people throw those around a lot here lately lol... Anyhoo, this fear that I just felt is what I cant stop thinking about. This is the fear we seen in the faces of people that are not Black or of African decent and how we say that its not an excuse for them to defend themselves. I disagree with hat not because I believe that they actually were defending themselves, but ONLY because IF Im scared, Im gonna be on defense mode... No matter WHO it is!!! and IF the moment causes for it, I WILL defend myself... I know people... Black people, who have LIVED in or near certain black neighborhoods all there lives who are AFRAID to travel in those same neighborhoods or stay in them for long periods of time... I know black men who live or travel in those areas who carry guns (legally) to stay protected. two people in my very close circle hit the lock on the doors as soon as we cross the DC line EVERY TIME... and God forbid a homeless or rough looking black person walk too close to the car... they will flip out in fear... We become afraid, defensive, and if we get to the point where we feel there is a need we WILL become violent to defend ourselves... that sounds very similar to profiling... its just not racial to us because WE are the same people we profile to be dangerous!!!.... We are terrified of our own people but in that same sense we have a hard time believing that other races arent just as afraid as afraid of US as we are.... and I have a hard time believing that... I in NO WAY am saying this is our fault, that these people arent wrong and justice shouldnt be demanded, I still say... racial profiling is NEVER fair... however, in MY experience. In every area or state that I have traveled to... WE are some of the rudest, disrespectful, and most violent people in this country!!! And I am often treated BETTER by a white person or people of another race than I am by my own kind.... I have NEVER unnecessarily been cursed out by a white person (unless I was driving lol) but I have had that problem with my own people, even family far too often... I have never been hit by a white person, but I have been ATTACKED without reason MANY times by my own people. I was jumped EVER DAY for years without cause... not by white kids, but kids from my own neighborhood. So I say again... If WE change our behavior. Stop raising gangsters, stop giving our young men and women the thought that its ok, or reasonable behavior, to beat up strangers, and stop killing our OWN men, women, and children, Maybe (and thats a very doubtful maybe) things will change... but either way... WE have to get US straight first... or there will never be justice on either side. the saying still stands!!!! TOGETHER we STAND... DIVIDED we fall... EVERY time!!! Malcolm, and Martin, Rosa and Coretta, Frederick and Olaudah, Sojourner and Harriet, didnt bring change to this world by fighting their own people... they did it by coming together as PEOPLE, no matter the race... and STANDING till freedom was obtained!!!! And in our generation, white men shouldnt have to kill our children for this to happen!!! #ventover
