Ok, I think Ive just seen the most disturbed dating simulator known to mankind (thank you Japan for adding this fing mess to reality so that I would stumble on it and watch with the same look on my face that I would stare at a train wreck with.) Hatoful Boyfriend... the pigeon dating sim game. No you did not just read that incorrectly. Just take a moment and allow that to process. Ill wait. Has your brain done about 12 double takes and re-read pigeon dating sim until it finally sunk in yet? Good now let me add in the next part that will make this even worse. The main character is a human female attending a all bird (well all pigeon) academy, where the goal of the game is to select and try and date... a fing pigeon. Yes.. human girl.. with a pigeon boyfriend. You may now let your brain explode. Ill wait while you attempt to reassemble it and push your lower jaw back up from off the ground where it has likely tried to dislodge itself while you tried to deal with the shock of comprehending what I just said. Back with me? Well whether you are or not... (If you havent pondered whats wrong with Japan at this point you either watch WAY too much anime or you may want to finally decide on which mental institution you should be checking yourself into.) yes... I am sadly not making this crap up. Its real. On the good side there appears to be no delving into actually mating with the new pigeon boyfriend (because I dont want to think too awful hard about that.) and for whatever reason the whole idea of a human dating a pigeon or even being the sole human at this bird academy is actually ok with the new bird society at large. Thank you Japan, just when I thought you couldnt get any weirder you managed to make me tilt my head and mouth WTF at my monitor as I stared in disbelief and absolute confusion at this thing youve produced. Even as I type this Im still trying to wrap my head around this... game concept.
