Ok. Im a chamber board member and have seen all the opinions about the block party. Personally I would like to keep it as is. Have a separate event that could coincide with the iron man contest with something similar to the lake fest or 4th fest we had in prior years. No charge to public. The revenue generated from the sales tax from the spending of people attending the events will pay for it. Along with using the money we (the Chamber) are supposed to get from (the city) as part of lodging tax levied on all hotel rooms in Pell city as tourism dollars. If we need additional parking Then make schools and busing available instead of mandatory. The walkway from the ballpark has been redone and the event can be structured in a way to utilize the venue in a practical and efficient way. Its been done before so it can be done again.
