Ok... Im very hesitant about stepping out on issues like this, due to the rightful strong feelings about it, but I hope I can convey what is on my mind and heart without offending anyone. Concerning the ongoing news reports regarding the racially charged statements made by several Atlanta Hawk officials to include the GM and others. What happened is WRONG on the highest order as can not be tolerated. There is no place in this world for racism. God dont make mistakes so Im sure not gonna sit in judgment of his creation! It is all the press this things got and how some equally horrible injustices get little is where my problem lies. Should the news be held back no! Not all all! We need to be proactive in seeking out these injustices and addressing them. My concern is what to do about the injustice of the wife whos husband beats her down daily with hurtful words or the son whos been told since he was a little boy that he would never amount to anything? Or the child at school who is bullied and called hurtful names? Or even people of certain faiths who are crucified because their faith does not fit well with the self-determined standards of morality of others or other religions? What do we do to help these people? I think the problem lies in just like we are quick to divide the human race into groups of color, we too categorize injustices into groups. Its racial, its verbal abuse, its bullying, its discrimination and even sensorship of peoples faith. Its either wrong or it isnt. It isnt a classification of wrong. It either is or it isnt. Wrong has no color, it is not of any age, and it is not housed in a church, synagogue or temple. The place where these injustices lie is within the hearts of the aggressor. We all have hearts, we all love something or someone. We should all as people seek out injustices committed on our fellow man and address them, and not those injustices committed within our chosen group of people. It is love for our fellow man that should be the compass guiding our actions.
