Ok. Ive been trying to avoid ranting on this venue since I got hired to my last job but I have to make my opinion known about this and hopefully I will open some eyes in the process. I just stopped in to Safeco to get a pizza and a tall can of beer. I go back to the pizza freezer where they have a few frozen meats and other things and im seeing boxed pizzas for the same prices as the other pizzas that Saif use to purchase that were locally made. I did make my opinion known about it and was informed that a local Co Op owned the business but I think they are missing the mark. Our community has lost hundreds of jobs, locals are suffering. I started going to Safeco when Saif opened the place 1. because hes a master of customer service, and 2, he knew about local values and really embraced the community and was keeping the supply local and trying to keep the cash flow in Jacksonville. All business owners here need to learn something from this man. We are cutting our own throats and running dollars out of the community. Being a military man born, bread, civilian and military serving in tons of forms, I questioned saif based on his name and skin color but after I met him I knew he was a genuine guy just trying to get by like the rest of us, and serving our community in a kind and considerate manner that were not accustom to and I was hooked....This folks is a business model. maybe not to get rich but to succeed locally and help the community in the process. Start thinking about how and where you spend your money. You may just be hurting the yourself or the generations beneath us. If you are truly comfortable in this community and want to see it last (in the most failing state in the nation) you need to REALLY think about the small things that many in the community can make a difference at.
