Ok, So Slovenia is my favourite country on my travels so far. Its incredibly beautiful and nearly everyone is friendly and most people speak English as well. The countryside is a lot like New Zealand and so is their old town of Ljubljana except its much older. Yesterday me and a few American and Canadian people I have met visited a 60 million year old cave that also happens to be the largest cave/ largest underground canon in Europe! The day was already very special, then we were invited by an Indian/ Slovenian family back to their house for a traditional Indian dinner. I have never eaten so well before and they really treated us like gods, It was truly heart warming to spend the evening at their home with their family and a couple of Indian diplomats as well. I got talking to Peter, the father of the family about the Yugoslavia break up in the early nineties and learnt a lot about how Slovenia and the 6 other nations came to be. Cookie, the mother of the family treated us all like her children and kept on loading the spicy food on to our plates!! We drank red wine, talked for hours and I will be eternally grateful to them for taking us in the way they did. There are beautiful people all over the world and you dont have to look far to find them. Sometimes they find you and it humbles me that in this day and age people are still willing to be human in nature. Love this world.
