Ok. So here is the update. Just left the Dr. And learned something interesting... Dr.s are a lot more like House than we care to admit. I have seen several Drs and orthos over the last couple of years and had X - rays and MRIs and not one has found this out. Based on the X rays taken today I have Patella Baja it is far worse in the right knee than the left but it is still pretty bad at this point. Apparently trauma and scar tissue causes a shortening and thickening of the Patellar tendon which pulls the knee cap down. In the case of the right knee it has pulled so low that it ocassionally impedes on the meniscus, pinches and causes a severe effusion. This explains the feeling in that knee that there is something stuck when I try to bend it and why I sometimes have issues kneeling and putting weight on the knees on the ground. Good news...Have some super steroids to take down the swelling and some good meds to help me deal with the pain til it goes back to normal waiting for me. Bad news...I have some serious choices to make regarding surgery. Apparently the most common side effect of this condition is the rupture of the quadricep tendon. (Does not sound pleasant) More good news though....The ortho may be able to help the condition with rehab. Lets cross our fingers!
