Thee is back, right the story I heard the backing singer was jerry hall, its not the case, there is a gospel singer that was drafted in, married, heavily pregnant at the time, 3 takes in the studio and could not get what mick what he wanted, she go a call at 4 in the morning, come back to the studio, in bath robe and long hair rapped up in Detroit she does, anyway, tries another attempt at the scream, mick says no ! Do it as you did earlier, she gets pissed aff, being tired and pregnant (what women would not) so bangs her voice out with passion, Keith says now that is what we looking for, mick walks out the studio outstripped by a better voice, she still tours today with them :-) a great story but if you listen to gimme shelter its a moment in time of a great voice
