Ok This is what I know to the best of my knowledge. As i Posted earlier our friend Marissa Barber s kitty Misty had 3 kittens on Friday. She has continued in labor over the weekend and no more kittens have come out. Marissa contacted me and I posted on my FB page for other to give advice as I am no expert in the world of kittens. The best advice was for her to get the cat to the ER vet right away. Marissa did this and the ER vet said that she would need an emergency C section to save her life and that they would not do this without the funds upfront. They did give the cat an IV and got her hydrated . Since she did not have enough funds, Marissa took Misty home and was prepared to give her to a rescue that would take the kittens and have the cat spayed but Marissa would have to give up her cat. In my mind this is not an acceptable solution. So, I told Marissa to keep an eye on Misty and get her to her regular vet first thing in the morning. I spoke with both Marissa and her mother Kristen whom Marissa lives with and they have agreed to have her at their vets first thing in the AM. We need to raise enough money by tomorrow to pay the bill; I assume it will be about half of what the ER vet was going to charge so somewhere around a thousand dollar. They did chew up about $170 of their current funding at the ER. The name of the vet that they will be going to is Town and Country Vets in Killeen , TX and the phone number is 254-634-0391.
