Ok Vania and Stacy, you both gave me 9. 9 things people may not know about me: 1. I have been an emergency crisis social worker, GED teacher, activist for North Carolina migrant farm workers, a cultural anthropology student, public library staff worker, childrens story-time programmer, folk singer-songwriter, and now a licensed acupuncturist. 2. I was a total grunge girl in high school. Black t-shirts, ripped jeans, flannel shirts and combat boots. I was a back-up singer in a grunge band named Great Awakening in Greensboro, NC. We had songs named like The Girl I Love is Dead and a song dedicated to Doogie Howsier. We even had an occasional mosh pit. 3. I have had two academic papers published. One in the Appalachian Studies Journal and in the American Acupuncturist. I am currently working on a humor/non-fiction/short story book. I am totally random. 4. When I was in NYC, I worked for 4 years as a receptionist at a medical spa in TriBeCa. Robert DeNiro was our landlord. 5. When I opened up for B.B. King, I had the honor of hanging out afterwards on his tour bus. B. B. played his favorite jazz tunes on his laptop and told me my voice sounded like Janis Joplins. It was an unforgettable night. 6. I have performed in over 45 weddings and commitment ceremonies. I love wedding cake. 7. I was born with cataracts in both my eyes, and I am legally blind in my left eye. This makes sunlight very painful, which is why I always have both a hat and sunglasses on. Its also why I still look 12. 8. My favorite show is Buffy The Vampire Slayer. 9. I have a severe phobia. Think Jaws. DO NOT use that against me, okay? ;)
