Ok, Well thats 30 mins. of my life Ill never get back. Ill tell you what I suggested when asked and Ill tell you what my friend Anthony had to suggest as well and what we talked about in the 30 minutes after my lost 30. This years AO was, when I was asked, a problem. It shouldnt have been because the late Ray Charles couldve seen it coming back at the 13 AOs, but it was. The contract was presumably done and I dont know how much could have been changed by the time the Nationals were held in July. But anyway, I was asked for an opinion and I gave it. Actually, though, plans should have been proposed right after the 13 AOs. I suggested that because they probably couldnt legally change the qualifying totals at the late date of Nationals (hahahahahaha) that they should leave them where they were for this year and change the AO into a sort of festival meet, make it four days long and add other things to do for the athletes that competed early(tonight Anthony and I kicked around the idea of adding a Crossfit type meet or a Mud Run on the weekend for a second event within the AO). Admittedly, it may not have been possible to change the dates event venue was available(but it only involved a Thursday) but the additional revenue and interest created would have, I think, been tremendous, especially considering that CrossFitters were making up most of the B,C and D classes. I suggested that in 15 the qualifying totals for the Nationals get raised but that the AO remain somewhat lower and the idea of a welcoming festival be marketed. I dont mind at all that my ideas werent drafted and I wasnt consulted at all on what the new plan should look like(actually it was ready at the Nationals). There is always room for different ideas. Of course, the usaw came up with the most confusing and elitist idea of all and put it out much too late for any coaches or athletes to adjust their competition schedules.
