Ok after taking 5 days to get over the shame and to warm up I have a lesson learned to share. First I have lived in the country and hunted the woods mtn and pilot rock mtn areas for years, been chasing waterfalls and landscapes a few and spent a few years in the Military training to be prepared. For the first time in 50 years I stuck my vehicle in the mud so bad I had to leave it in the woods last Sunday afternoon, lightly dressed, no cell service in an area where you are lucky to see another person in 25 miles in a week. An hour before dark and of course alone. After a few mile hike with 50 pounds of gear the only passerby I saw actually stopped. Thank the good lord! You ask why I tell or why should you care. I have noticed a lot of NEW people in this group asking directions and claiming I have 4x4 I can make it. Well so do I and 2 of them in fact and have owned one for many years so let me tell you what you have, you have 4 wheels that will get stuck if you arent smart or let your desire get you in trouble. A missed day from work 4 chains 2 come-a-longs a nephew & 2 shovels later I am now prepared again. I will close this rant with just because it is the best rain in months it doesnt give you super abilities or make you bullet proof just because you have a little experience. Be safe and be smart!
