Ok another doctor appointment today this time with my new Podiatrist...my old one retired. Is it me or are the doctors getting younger and younger. Anyway I went in couple weeks ago because when walking I felt like I had something under the skin poking when I walked in fact in the evening my heal was very tender. X-ray done in the office showed a small bone spur started but this where the podiatrist and I differ on location I said it is on my right part of my heal where he say they normally form on the left side. So I had a MRI to check out my foot...I was right it is on the right side . The MRI also showed the area very inflamed from the bone spur and he suggest I get a shot of cortisone. I have heard stories from family and friends about it helping so I said why not. I had 2nd thoughts when he came back in the room caring a needle that reminded me of the syringe I used to injector flavoring into meat... you know the size. The doctor started letting me what he was going to do spray my foot to deaden the injection sight and then inject me. I told me to stop telling me what he was going to do and just do it. I had taken my glasses off and covered my eyes with my hands and face the music sort of with my eyes closed. When I felt the needle go into my foot...all I could do was breathe. When he finished and put a Band-Aid on my foot. I swear I could still feel the needle in my foot. When I came out of the exam room the staff were all standing there and gave me a standing ovation because I didnt scream...I didnt know I could scream...I was working hard just to breathing. Pain is gone now...no tenderness at all. I guess it was worth it.
