Ok brief break - like 4 hours while the ship left the dock and is on the way to next location - Athens. Howev, back to narration of previous places. The next day was a marathon not just because it was a constant 11 hours of movement, but because we had mum in tow and she was not up to walking as much as she thought she was. Rome and the Vatican was on the Menue and the port was about an hour away from both. Rome was amazing as right in the middle of the city they a doing new digging and finding all sorts of things that are brilliant. We went tonTrivii fountain first and sat in amazement. The colosseum was spectacular huge and we so wanted to go inside, but the lines and our schedule was not permitting. Next time! The Vatican was next after lunch at a typical restaurant and how spectacular was that? Awesome paintings, tapestries and statues and the money spent on all of these is amazing. But the absolute best was the Sisteenth Chapel. No pics or speaking allowed but just gasps of every one in the area. Wow!
