Ok everyone, did not add any words to yesterdays post as I just uploaded the pics from my phone in a rush, but it was another great day on the light tackle bottom fishing, but not a lot on the surface. We had a young couple who rented the boat for themselves for a Private Charter and it was their 1st experience, and even though we did not catch a Monster fish, they where really happy with their day out with us and promised to write a review on Tripadvisor. Some very nice fish where caught using Dyneema braided line on Spinning and short carbon rods, using a variety of Jigs and baited hooks. I know this sounds like all we are catching lately, but it is such good fun, and theres not a lot more happening on the other styles of fishing at the moment, even though we had a bad 1st morning trip today, but this afternoon but managed to land some nice flatfish, nothing massive but still put a good bend in the rod, and when we set off for trolling, we had a Big Blue Marlin hit one of the bigger lures, about 4 or 5 times but it just did not get hooked up. It was such an unusual take on the lure and when it 1st hit the bait and took line it really looked like a big Mako or Thresher Shark, that once in a blue moon take a surface lure, in fact I was so sure that I stopped the boat to try and reel it in, but then the line went slack and we thought it had spat the lure, but when we went to move off again, the lure went tight and it took more line, this time we could see a big tail thrahing aroung on the surface and I was convinced it was Mako shark, so stopped the boat again and the same thing happened, this happened another 2 or 3 times and then it dissapeared, so I wound the lure in, expecting it to be in shreds but was very surprised to see the trace line had been heavily scratched up and twisted, exactly how they look after a Marlin Strike, so we got that one wrong! Anyway we set off again, with a bit of enthusiasm, but no luck, we did not come across another fish, but what a shame as that was a ,Big Marlin !!! Tomorrows another day (^^^) 8| (y)
