Ok everyone just to update on the physiatrist appt that Gavin had. He explained alot to us. That we needed to hear. He explained that while he is unsure as still to the cause of Gavins disabilities he would like to move forward with more testing. He agrees with the afos which are Gavins leg braces. Stands for ankle foot orthotics. He agrees with hand braces. He would like to up Gavins daily medication from 2.5mg to 5mg twice daily. For those who dont know Gavin takes a medication daily for spasticity. He is also scheduling an appt fod Gavin to recieve botox injections. These will be four shots in his legs. Two in the back of each thigh and in the front. He is hoping these will take some of that spasticity out and give him more of a chance to try and use them. We are hoping this in turn will give him a stronger trunk as his is very weak. We will also be doing a spine mri and still meeting with the neurology team at cleveland clinic. Gavin is still the same and not progressed much. The only thing that came to the doctors mind was called spastic diplegia. Look it up and for those of you who know Gavin it will be dead on. We arent sure yet if that is the case but will know with further genetic testing. Gavin is a trooper though and continues to show me his stregth everyday. Well my man buddha belly is in bed and im headed that way now worked overtime for a bit. Well night world and share share share and remember please have faith for gavin.
