Ok fellow current and Ex freight dogs. I am not sure this has been posted on such a large scale audience before, but statue of limitations long since expired causes some food for thought. I was in the Rio Grande Valley from 1983 to 1988, and at that time, the southbound freight was in its last heyday. There were Aztecs, Navajos, Twin Bos, Queen Airs, Twin Beeches, L-18s, PV-2s, DC-3s, DC-4s, DC-6s, a Super 3 and i think even a Connie that were involved, not to mention the smaller 206s etc. There are many more here that know more than i, but i have personally patched bullet holes in DC-3s as a result of some of this commerce. The stories are now part of folklore and history, perhaps a certain Romance about them?, anyway here is what i would say is one of the most famous. Who remembers the details :-)
