Ok folks I set off a disagreement earlier about Kim Bauer. Some think shes OK, some think her part is great and some just fancy her, while the rest of us dont care what she looks like and wish shed wear a bullet, while stepping off a landmine and riding a missile!!! I dont need to be told that Jack needs to have some normality, Im not bothered. I just want it to believable. I know Kim is a beautiful young lady, with a gorgeous body, but lets be honest, this is 24 were talking about. Who cares what she looks like? If shed been a fat, goofy, four eyed, spotty little dweeb none of us would have minded as long as her story wasnt painful to watch. Kim puts herself in the most stupidest situations and then wonders why shes held at gunpoint. Lets look at the end of season 2 where she goes back to her employers house to collect her things. That isnt the annoying part of the story. The annoying part is, she goes in the house on her own! Her boss is a complete nut-job. Hes beaten and killed his wife and beaten his little girl. Kim is frightened of him. I mean, who can blame her? Yet at no point does she turn to the police officer and say, Would it be OK if you come in the house with me just in case Mr mad man is hiding inside? Nope she happily walks through the door and without caution runs up the stairs and packs her bags. Then when her boss turns up an makes a bit of noise what does Kim do? She assumes its the police officer! OK, I can forgive her a little for thinking and hoping it was the cop. However dumb, blond Kim doesnt even comprehend that it could be her crazy boss. OH no, she just stupidly carries on and packs her bags as if she was in her own home and no bad guy ever lived their. HELLO, ARE YOU REALLY THAT THICK!? What about this one then? Kims father works for the Counter Terrorist Unit, hes preventing bad guys from blowing up the USA. Hes the best in the business and Kim knows this, shes even seen her dad at work. However when her father tells her to get out of LA because its dangerous, what does Kim do? She ignores him. She hasnt got the brain capacity to think, Duh!..I...won...der...if..I...should...listen..to..my...dad...because...if...he...says...its...dangerous...its...probably...dangerous. Nope she totally ignores her father and treats it as if hes said nothing. Seriously she deserved to be blown up! HES A CTU AGENT IDIOT, LISTEN TO HIM! (I know Im ranting, but Im nearly finished.) I understand that Kim loves her dad. I can understand that sometimes she might need to contact him at work. I contact my wife at her job, and Im sure a lot of us do the same with our families. However Kims dad isnt just tied to a desk 24 hours of the day. Nope most of the time hes running operations in very, very difficult situations. He could be under cover, being tortured, or about to raid a highly secretive terrorist group. So what does Kim when she needs daddy? She calls him! But she doesnt just call him, she expects him to drop everything to help her out. She even asks folk at CTU where her dad is. When they say hes not there, she responds by saying where he is. Is she that thick? Does she expect her dad to say to his torturers, Sorry guys, I know you want to electrocute me, but would you mind awfully if I deal with my daughter? You know how kids are? I promise, youll have my full co-operation in just a few moments. Thanks guys, you are all terribly nice. So now you know why some of us dont like Kim Bauer. Its because she is a spoilt little brat and shes very, very thick!
