Ok, for most of you, like me, who were less than two years old when JFK got assassinated.. I have a funny story on the where were you question. I dont mean to besmirch the dead. But he was a look good kind of president.. hmmm kind of familiar...tell me one thing he did extremely well, other than swim back to a boat severely hurt? He fought Martin Luther King Jr. until he knew he couldnt win. He, HE ALONE, got us in Viet Nam. Ike didnt want any of that. Kennedy was a Captain I believe, in WWII, Ike was well you know.... Ike said no way on Viet Nam...So the same people that idolize Kennedy, but demonize Viet Nam.. you should punch your self in the face. Ike had it right... Viet Nam has endured centuries of intruders...and has well, outlived their will for war... at a cost of Viet Namese lives off the charts.. They would have kept going as long as there was a person capable of firing a rifle or throwing a rock. Ike knew their history.. JFK, wanted to be strong on communism. I understand the motivation.. I think it was more political than anything else... Again.. any thoughts about current leadership? I gotta give creds on banging Marilyn Monroe.... but ... You dont need leaders to take you places you are comfortable with... you need leaders to take you to the right places, at the right times, with well articulated reasons. Leaders lead with truth.. Ive lead men in the Army... Ive lead/taught many people... leading is easy.... you just have to care about the people you lead, and articulate a vision of where you want them/you/mission to be. And be in front, take the flack and they will follow. Mostly Ive been an opinion leader.
