Ok friends, Im calling on everyone here to help me out with something. Since our old campaign fell apart there has been a solid *0* games we have done as a group, and I would like that to change. The painting parties are nice and fun, but even those have only a couple of members participate in. While I understand that not everyone in the group here has the same level of enthusiasm for painting or playing, the reason that we have this group at all is to get together and have fun while we play some games, and this year hasnt been a good one for that. With that in mind, Ive been trying to think of some ways that we can get people interested in playing again (or at all). Initially that was what the campaign was for, but I think before we try that again we need to maybe get through something smaller first. So here are my ideas to try to make this work. 1. Have regular gaming weekends (e.g. 1st Saturday of every month) to get together and game, and a separate painting day. 2. Start a smaller 3 mission campaign with progressive points (there are several pre-made either from GW or made by other gamers to choose from) 3. Incorporate other games (such as Arkham or other board/tabletop games) into our game days. 4. Do smaller games to make it a smaller time/financial investment. 5. Do a low points league (i.e. Start at 500 points) that progresses in points in small increments These are just to start, but Im open to suggestions. I know that some like Kyle dont have as big of an army yet and are more interested in learning, so I want to be the first to say that any of my armies, rulebooks, and resources are free for the use of our group members to playtest or proxy, especially for newer players. I am also aware that Micah is living far far away and probably wont make it down too often to play. Even so, Mark, Spencer, Jim, Ben Gabbert, and James are all pretty close around here. What Im trying to do is something fun, casual, and/or narrative that is a good excuse for a bunch of us to get together and hang out over a game. Id like everyone to respond to this, please and let me know what I can do to help us all get playing regularly again. For reference, here are my armies and approximate point values for people who want to borrow or use: Blood Angels: 7,000+ painted/assembled Grey Knights: 1500 painted and assembled Tau: 2,000 Painted and Assembled Orks: (small mob painted and assembled, need the new dex) Astra Militarum (Guard): none painted approx 1,000 points
