Ok have to address the number of posts about the Noah movie. This is to those of you who have seen it that are pissed it isnt a biblical narrative and those of you posting boycotting messages damning everyone involved. Complaint number 1 is that it isnt a word for word event for event biblical narrative; ladies and gents I hate to disappoint you but the story of Noah isnt exactly a biblical exclusive scoop, it is discussed and told in numerous ancient manuscripts from the Quran (sp?), the Gilgamesh flood tablet, Greek mythology, the Mayans, the Native Americans, and even those darn Hindus. They are not mocking our religion by making a movie that isnt exactly bible based. They are telling an ancient story and trying to make it entertaining, get over it. The Raiders of the Lost Ark didnt really go strictly biblical on the Ark of the Covenant but we all still love it. Complaint number 2 is usually that the director is an atheist. To you people I give to you Matthew 7 v. 1-2, judgement is often too quickly given out by many in the church and it only makes me pity those who do. This man is an atheist true but that doesnt mean he fails to tell a compelling story. For those of you who have not seen Requiem for a Dream, get your compassion for man out with your tissues and go watch it, a terribly brilliant story of tragedy. The third is that Noah is an enviromentalist and a vegetarian, and that this movie is trying to push those ideals upon us. Uh according to Genesis everyone was a vegetarian before they left the ark, and lets face it this is the man that God chose to save his creation by putting them in a boat and living with them for a large amount of time... Its highly logical he was indeed an enviromentalist type. Complaint 4 is that much like this post the movie is long and overdone. Now you see that is a valid complaint, when I saw Fellowship of the Ring I thought the same thing, you just go to town posting about how much you hate it because of its length and entertainment. For myself I look forward to seeing it for entertainment value, I dont expect to point at it and use it as an educational tool in telling Weston the story of Noah, but I do expect Russel Crowe to give at least one speech damning mankind and for me thatll make it worthwhile.
