Ok here go my 8 Kari Toth. I had to narrow down b/c apparently I am more quirky than I realized! 1. My name is actually Stephanie Ann and I lived in a trailer on my dads college campus in Charleston S.C. until I was 5. Stacy is an arbitrary nickname. The only person that has ever called me by Stephanie was Mrs. Baker in 2nd grade 2. I got my first perm in 2nd grade. Continued to perm my hair until college when u decided I wanted straight hair only to learn my hair is naturally curly. I now spend lots of time and money straightening 3. At 56 I am the shortest person on all sides of my family (Franz, stickley and Simons) 4.i once had both the best batting average and the most strike outs in the same season in fast pitch softball. The only seasons I didnt hold the strike out title were the two seasons my sister took. Go Franz sisters! 5. On that note, I once lost in junior high track doing high jump when I was the only one competing at the meet. Do u remember that David Phipps? 5. To redeem myself, I like to write. I went almost every year elementary thru high school to the young authors conference (except years you went Jeni Jennifer Yoakum Chadwick). My most treasured award was winning the first annual Cleary Connection Award in honor of a beloved teacher who died if cancer. I wrote a poem on what does courage mean to you. I wish I still had it. 6. I am a picky eater and am greatly bothered by smells. I eat very few vegetables b/c I am bothered by texture. I once threw up in line for lunch during grade school just from the smell of the grease from the nasty hamburgers 7. I worked in the dining hall my freshman year of college attending the salad bar. Years later I would get recognized by people I didnt know as the salad bar girl 8. I have been trained in narrow transcription phonetics. When I turn on my ear, I can hear the difference between an aspirated t, an aspirated t, and an alveolar flap (for my fellow speech geek friends). However, I mix all my metaphors much to my husbands amusement
