Ok heres a question - are the sweet potato leaves we so love to fry with belachan really from sweet potatoes? Cos I have grown them from the normal ones, and also the purple ones and while the leaves taste similar they sure dont resemble the ones we buy at the markets. For one, the stems of my sweet potato plants are not soft and juicy but woody. And the shape of the leaves are different as well. Could the vegetables we call sweet potato leaves really have been tapioca leaves instead?
