Ok my rant for tonight. Based on last night but i was up with my son. To the start, yesterday evening i did see some posts and talk online of Bronwyn Bishop being called out as being a biased madam speaker, Leaning right as she was once a liberal MP. Having missed question time i let most of it go and just decided to watch and read up on popular opinion, Seemed fairly simple, Everyone claiming that she is not fit for the position. I did note that she had faced a vote of no confidence, Interesting timing, considering the epic failure of the MIM recently, It is clear to me now this is no longer just a left or right thing anymore. Its not the centre moderates involved, It is purely a term my father coined and i have stuck with for many years, Wing tippers, those on the frindges, the hard left and the hard right, devide grows as more and more moderates swing out into these fringes. So instead of the left/right as many are now doing, let me state my stance. Of 11 online polls (which are easily enough googled if you wish), in 8 i came up as right (because i assume such is the devide nowdays that everything must be black or white in politics) PFFFT, In 2 i came up centre moderate, and in the last moderate with right leanings. Without taking any of those tests i would have agreed with the last one. Now Bronwyn Bishop faced the vote and the results were in her favour. I watched the rerun last night, To me it simply seemed that Labor were being childish ( with volume up i did hear the ejected and named Mark Dreyfus refer to her as MaDAME), To be fair they have been since question time began this year, but this was just a complete waste of time. The sly dig was out of line. The citation was that she had been ejecting more Labor reps than Liberal, Of course the idea that this was purely based on the FACT, that they have been behaving so sorely, as losers of the election didnt rate a mention by Tony Burke, Who instigated the vote of no confidence. That being said is was nice to see someone make an actual motion in relevant terms, It failed and then it hit the online community, Now let me be clear here, Not only, did i not notice any complaints against Bronwyn Bishop on social media before hand, You can surely see them now. However after an hour and a half of searching tonight i still cannot find ONE claim of her accused bias, dated before the 26th of March. Now however if you type her name into a search, before you can finish it comes up with Bronwyn Bishop Bias immediately. Again, nothing before the 26th. Hence i now feel justified in concluding that no one had a problem with her in her current position before T Burke opened his mouth. But after, Reminds me of a typical social media reaction from the left wing tippers, The abuse was astonishing, Reminded me of Yumi Styles incident and a few others. Things i wont begin to quote here, mostly from Joe Blow disenchanted greens voter and those precious few, cant get over it, (lost the election), extreme Labor fanatics. However it does make a very sad point. Many People of this country now only seem to read what they want to read, and think whinging is the way to fix things rather than actually working toward future policy, or even DOING anything constructive about it. It did also highlight 1 positive while overshadowing another. Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to Former Major General Peter Cosgrove, On his appointment to the position of Governor General, (lets hope he is the first to receive a Knighthood, Now that he is again eligible), No finer man of service to Australia and the commonwealth is more deserving. Although this was over shadowed, i was glad to find in my search that many too have come out in support of the Madam Speaker. With news of over 180,000 e-mails of support in less than 24 hours, Not only do they counter some petitions created since the call, with as few as 20 signatories and as many as 72,000. It was even more restoring to the faith in the decency of the majority, That many of these e-mails of support came from previous and current Labor MPs. To me proving this whole thing, in no way, helped anyone at all, Not Labor, Not Liberal, Not the people. Let me be clear here i dont wish to discuss my opinion on this matter any further after stating this. The vote is over, it was quashed, What is happening now is simple, Someone (an individual) was put in the spotlight, and only 2 groups seem to be excessively vocal about it, Both are wing tippers, one side are supporters who just dislike the other side, The others come across as online bullys targeting ONE PERSON, amongst their attacks against the other wing tippers. Both should really take a good hard look at themselves but none more so than those who are attempting to slander/Vilify/defame and generally bully the target of this madness...
