Ok, now heres a question and a vulnerable moment: Today, flying with my CFI we heard a radio call to ground; gorilla007 request VFR to the north. I asked my CFI what kind of tail number is that?!? He said sometimes people use their call signs versus their tail numbers when communicating with Tower. I said - well then how about I start using my call sign Pot Roast? He said whats that all about? I told him its my husbands call sign for me - I have a bad tendency to go low and slow on approach like cooking a pot roast. Not cool. My CFI almost fell out of the plane laughing. 😃
