Ok people, lets get some perspective; Im not saying that the Aaliyah biopic wasnt pedestrian, but not horrible... Remember, its a Lifetime movie, not a major motion picture or even a straight-to-DVD film on a legendary group. Kudos(slightly) to Wendy for pulling it off with no support from the family. You shed light on a career that was cut short before its prime. As for the particulars: This was not the worst one ever(calm down people, remember the Little Richard bio and when Flex Played MJ, or did everyone develop selective memory), not even close. There isnt much to expect from a Lifetime movie, no Oscar-Worthy material. And YES, the R.Kelly/Aaliyah marriage was a big deal, period(if it happened in this day and age black people wouldnt be supporting R, but folk didnt mind him peeing on little girls tho). She looks like her, sounds serviceable, and made a run-of-the-mill LIFETIME movie. Ill give it a C-. #Realistic #StopOverReacting #RememberFlex #RememberLeonAsLittleRichard
