Ok please people give me your opinions. So I have a 6 year old son, 5 year old step son who stays every weekend and a 12 weeks old baby boy. I have always made it perfectly clear that in no way shape or form are any of the boys to be treated differently by either my family of other halves family. My step son is very spoilt and the Apple of the familys eye and we was all worried how the new baby would affect him, but I have done everything possible to make sure hes not left out as its him who has to go home every weekend, If I buy for my son, I buy for him too even when hes not there, I buy them matching outfits (as they say they are brothers and want to dress the same) my sister in law has bought them all matching coats for Xmas, she says she has 3 nephews and their dad says he has 3 grandsons. well their mum has a new fella who shes been with for quite a while now, about 7/8 months or so. Hes met the kids once, all 3 of them together, only hes gone out and bought my baby and step son matching football coats but nothing for my other son.... I want to refuse the coat for my baby, I would never allow any of my family to do that and single one child out like that, how is my son Gona feel when his brothers are wearing matching coats and he hasnt got one, am I wrong in thinking this is out of order and clearly a blatant sign of favouritism? Yes they will always favour their blood grandchildren more but how dare they make it blatantly obvious in front of my son? My other half says its no big deal and its because my son doesnt support the same team.....well excuse me but I doubt very much my 12 week old baby supports that team and even if that was the case find out what team he does support and buy him the coat for his team? he then tried to say its because his mums fella never met my son, he met my son the same time he met the other two! The rest of my other halves family (the normal nice ones) have all said its bang out of order. But how do I politely refuse the coat for the baby without offending them?
