Ok prayer warriors I need your prayers. Most people know that I had a double mastectomy about 3 weeks ago. Surgery took about 9 hours and I stayed in the hospital for about a week and came home with 4 drains... 2 on each side (yuck) Everything went pretty smooth for the first few weeks and the dr was able to remove 3 of the drains (yayyyyy!) then over the weekend I noticed some changes on the left side of my chest. At first I thought that the tissue expander had ruptured, :0 I could feel fluid around the expander ( not good) Sooo I went back to see the dr. and he said that I needed to go back to surgery. Luckily the expander is still in place but my body is making a lot of fluid from the 1st surgery. He went in and drained off as much as he could but still needs to go back in and clean the area and put more drain tubes in. Also, the incision on the same side is pulling open, as they continue to add fluid to the expanders there is a chance that the insicision could bust open, If that happens it could cause serious infection and I dont want that, so he is going to go ahead and remove that tissue to eliminate the chance. The surgery will be this Thursday at 2:00. He said this one should only take about 3 hours so thats good. I know that God is in control of this situation and things will turn out just the way it is meant to be. Please pray for the doctors and nurses that will be with me during surgery and pray that my body continues to be strong enough to handle what needs to be done. I love you all!
