Ok, several of you have expressed interest in the Kim Bradley meets James Garner story, so here it is... Once upon a time I was tending bar at Jimmy Kellys in Nashville, TN. James Garner came in with a group of people (including Mel Gibson) for dinner and I got to chat with him for a couple of minutes before they sat down to eat. They were in a private room across the hall from my bar. When dinner was over Mr. Garner came back in the bar to say goodnight and thanks. By this time in the evening Kim was off work herself and sitting at my bar. When she heard Jimmy Rockford talking to me she spun around on her bar stool and exclaimed something to the effect of Oh my god, James Garner is here!. As I came out from behind the bar to shake his hand and say goodnight, Kim came over and told him what a fan she was. He looked at her and smiled and said something like Well arent you a pretty lady.., which of course, she is. Not missing a beat, Kim beamed up at him and said, Mr. Garner, do you want to hug me?. That alone is a classic Kim moment. And of course he wanted to hug her and did, including a smooch on her cheek. We talked for a moment or two more, then he said his goodnights and was on his way. I went back to work and Kim sat back down at the bar. A few minutes later I turned back from what I was doing to see Kim holding her shirt to her nose and inhaling deeply. She noticed that I was looking at her and what she was doing, and then smiled and said to me in a way only Kim can... Jeff, I smell like James Garner!. Classic moment... classic Kim Bradley!
