Ok, since some people have started talking without asking first (you know who you are), lets set facts straight. Some people will see a 403 error when visiting addic7ed (mostly Indians apparently). While doing optimizations lately we noticed a lot of visitors / users that had an abnormal behavior. For example, lets take visitor of the month, that made exactly 7247203 visits this year (18 days). Or (a less skilled one - he gets the silver award) this guy with 5258732 visits in 18 days. Theyre using bots / scripts / programs to crawl addic7ed each second and check for subtitle uploads / edits etc. And theyre not the only ones... So we decided to ban them. While I dont agree scraping websites, you really cant stop the phenomenon (and I wont check the logs 24/7 to ban everyone). Smart people get away with it (and I dont plan on banning them either). Why would you check a webpage EACH SECOND for an update? Set the frequency to 1 minute or 5 and were all happy. Having 200-500 people that do this every second, each day of the week puts a bit of a pressure on the server. Sharing is caring and everyone should get their subtitles on time. Be fair.
