Ok so I binge watched movies this weekend. Heres what I watched and how highly I recommend it: BOYHOOD - highly recommend… though I wasnt blown away by it or even that emotionally touched by it, it is an almost flawless film. Weird right? Still not sure how to feel about it. Patricia Arquette was great. GENERATION WAR (netflix streaming mini-series based on a true ww2 story) - highly recommend - AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I balled for the last 20 minutes of the third episode. And when you realize the characters are real, it really hits home. This miniseries truly makes you understand that no side wins in any war. GRANDMASTER - If youve seen IP MAN, dont watch. If not, I half heartedly recommend but mostly feel that you should see IP MAN instead =) Shot beautifully ala Won Kar Wai of course. 20 FEET FROM STARDOM - recommend if you love music. Great documentary about back up singers. Very touching. Amazing voices. CHASING BEAUTY - urgh. terrible. dont recommend. Even the documentary seemed to lack depth. The only interesting part was about super model Hoyt and how he used to be in a cult for 20 years. Lets make a doc on that. Oh ok, I watched a few more episodes of SCANDAL too. RECOMMEND =) Yes, I was cleansing this weekend and therefore was watching a lot of movies =))
