Ok so I cant stick to Christines budget but I have been very mindful recently on how / what I have cooked and have changed the following things 1) planned meals for week and shopped accordingly rather than just random purchases .... 2) bulked meals out e.g chilli with extra veg / beans or for curries - chickpeas 3) cooked most things from scratch 4) tried to use most things up in fridge before next shop 5) batch / bulk cooked meals and used freezer 6) bought super savers / basics ranges for essentials 7) baked rather than bought biscuits / cakes etc 8) used veg patch and surplus veg / fruit made jams or soups 9) used Sunday roast to make extra 2-3 meals 10) frozen cheese (pre grated) chillis ginger fresh herbs milk stale bread as bread crumbs etc to avoid slinging in bin 11) shopped around when offers are on (although do like morrisons but will give lidl a og next!) 12) bought cheaper meat cuts and cooked for longer 13) made lots of stews, curries and soups 14) use free eggs off farm in lots of meals All this however is very time related and I could not manage all these changes if I was not at home with my girls .... Brill idea Christine - so cant wait to see what other tips I can pick up
