Ok, so I generally dont say a lot about myself personally, but I have to share this... Ive been sick. As in physically sick. Apparently Ive been walking around with a pretty serious sinus infection for the last six months or so. Anyway, over the course of the last couple of weeks Ive been seeing an ENT guy. The infection combined with Acid Reflux has aggravated my vocals cords to the point that I cough constantly...or have been for the last couple of days - since about Saturday. So, I saw the ENT guy again on Monday - which is when he told me about the vocals - and gave me the little bath ball looking pills to numb the back of my throat so I wont cough. They are *sorta* helping, but they make me sleepy. So, yesterday, I had to travel for the day job and couldnt take them like I had been, so I coughed allllll day long. And I mean those dry, racking coughs where you cant get enough air back in to replace what youre hacking out... After I got home I took a cough pill, along with half a hydrocodone to help me relax after tweaking muscles in my chest and back during the day... Anyway, this morning, I coughed so hard that I passed out in the bathroom. On my way down, I cracked my head on the floor. Fortunately my roommate heard the thud and came to check it out. I wasnt out for long, about a minute, but I have a softball sized lump on my forehead that makes me look like Im in the early stages of becoming one of Golixs minions! So, he gets me up and off we go to the hospital. (It was about 7 am...) They do all the standard stuffs, take x-rays, do an MRI, etc over the course of the day. Finally about 4pm, the doctor comes in and the very FIRST thing he does, without any warning, is POKE THE LUMP! Then calmly asks, Does that hurt? Now, I have to warn you, Im a reactant. When Im in pain and youve CAUSED said pain, I dont cry. I dont scream. I dont curse. I CAUSE PAIN IN RETURN! So, I smacked him across the NOSE and very calmly said, Does that? Needless to say, I got a new doctor. This one stayed a good distance away and proceeded to tell me I have a minor concussion, (the roomie needs to wake me every couple of hours after I go to bed) but I should be fine... And before you say anything...yes, this is going in a book! Sometime, somewhere, the doctor with the no-warning-Im-gonna-stab-it bedside manner...is gonna die a horribly, nasty death...MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
