Ok so I think I have some street cred on this one.....When I first heard of the Ice bucket challenge, well I said to my self...dumb asses as I assumed it was like all the other challenges like the cinnamon challenge...where people did stupid shit and filmed it.....Then I heard about how much money it has been raising for one of those Evil diseases that hardly get a mention....like my wifes Huntingtons Disease. so I thought ok heres some fad that at least has a good final result......But then we have the backlash....I do not understand why something that does have a good outcome is getting so much criticism....I guess its not the right format for some, but really yogurt tops for the Susan G. Komen, five K race for the cure triathlon, with pink sneakers license plate scavenger hunt and tofu fest....We are pink ribbon-ed purple ribbon-ed and puzzle piece ribbon-ed to death We want to race for the cure, bike for the cure, swim for the cure , walk for the cure....We have bake sales and we march for the dimes.......Well when was the last time you heard about Huntingtons disease if you did not hear it from me? when was the last time you heard about ALS without it being about Steven Hawking, and probably about physics rather than ALS.........Now Huntingtons is trying to launch a pie in your face challenge...seeing the success of the Ice bucket challenge.....If that takes off, who will be the first to shit on that one? I will take the pie, eat the pie and donate....oh and I give.....I give every day...To the hungry and the MDA and Veterans and others...I give every day with my own blood and sweat, never mind the tears......Sure you dont need to get wet and cold to donate....but if it makes people take notice and donate then what the hell is wrong with that?
