Ok so Im a Christian! And Im about to say something that not only makes me incredibly sad but is also going to make a lot of people feel incredibly uncomfortable but I cant hold it in any longer! I have been a member of the same church all my life (yes thats 40 years) and I still feel like an outsider! There are many mums that come to my church, that I see at the school gates that barely acknowledge me, let alone say hello. I spoke to another mum today that after just afew times at my church and mums an toddler group said she found it very clicky!! Sadly this is true. Surely thats not what being a Christian is about. We all have bad days but ultimately we should behave as a family and not break ourselves into the cool and not cool group. I took my daughter today to the craft day at the Baptist church and as always I found this to be an incredibly open and welcoming place! I love that my church is so varied and busy and dont get me wrong i have made some lovely friends but I feel sad that instead of it feeling welcoming I feel I have to compete and surely that isnt what the house of god should be about. I would love this to be only my experience but many have come to me and told me they feel the same. Lessons here for me and my fellow Christians to learn! I dont expect anyone to have the courage to respond to this, I just feel that finally I should say it out loud.
