Ok, so everybody knows the common symptoms of Influenza, right? Well, Ive got one nobody tells you about.....Loneliness! The kids were off to Arlands house within hours of my diagnosis....Momma and Daddy only call......David drops me a care package off on the front porch and goes.....Other than my coughing, the only noise here is my tv and my nebulizer every 4 hours....Im use to a loud and busy house, so, this is very strange to me. Although, it is not nice to not to have to cook dinner, wash clothes, and help with home work when you feel like youve been run over by a truck. This next part is for my Alcoa peeps....this is when I knew I was pretty sick and needed to see a doctor. Im driving to pick up the girls after school and Im listening to my usual call-in sports talk show on 99.1. I was feeling very crappy this day and knew I probably had a decent fever. I hear this voice (a caller)....this voice...and Im thinking I know this voice. OMG...I begin to think I must be having an auditory febrile hallucination because Booger Browns voice is coming through my car stereo speakers......sure enough, after the caller had talked 5 minutes non-stop, they referred to him as Michael. I was thinking, no, it couldnt be. I reflected on the content of what Michael was saying and realized he said free thos and you know what Im sayin man about a dozen times, so I thought, yep, it probably was. Some things just never change. Seriously though, those of you who have had a positive flu (Strain A-H1N1) test, how many days were you down? Did your spouse or kid(s) get it from you? I found it interesting that the doc wanted my kids on Tamiflu prophylactically. I guess they didnt think my two little happy wheezers would fare well with flu. Good thing I got enough Xopenex to share!
