Ok so heres my piece So this is a subject i have thought a lot about. The problem is that Scotland is so integrated into the UK that every single issue is a big complicated mess. And the only way we can answer this question is to have proper answers so people can weigh everything up. But nobody has answers just probablys and if and buts. People want to know if they will be worse or better off if we were independent. Will there be more or fewer jobs? nobody can say... even with the union people cant say. Will we have more or less money? same again. So with no clear answers on either way. I think it the question might be answered on the philosophical level. And on a tangent the no vote campaign do nothing but prey on fears. Lines like there no going back or we cant take the pound is just fear mongering. And your half truths of cherry picked facts from a specific perspective is also missleading and just plain bullshit. Pictures of navy ships and highlighted numbers of what Scotland pays for and what Scotland gets for defense is shite. Its not like the royal navy is parked in the Clyde just waiting for attacks. So the questions i ask myself are like. What Country has had the choice for Independence and has not taken it? I dont know of any. Every Country has has strived for the means to control its destiny. The break up of the Ottoman empire is good result of this and also the poster child of freedom the USA. I want to say Yes. Yes to freedom. But not because the UK is bad. by no means. A lot of Scotlands greatest achievements were enabled by the union. But its time for a new chapter. We do have the means to be a successful country. I can understand and respect anyones choice to say no. Change is scary. Especially with change that is so uncertain. Scotland is one of the biggest little countries. History. Culture. Economy. Technology. Education. We have a lot to offer the world. But i think we should also view the union with fond memories. rather being attached at the hip maybe we can still be close friends.
