Ok, so heres the thing, Im tired of Facebook. Its been fun while its lasted but I believe Ive outgrown it. When I started, it was for college kids only and I was a freshman at VCU. I used it primarily for organizing parties at my house. Soon, Facebook expanded to include everyone. I found it to be a great way to keep in touch with people Id gone to college with as well as all of my old high school friends that started popping up. Soon, Id friended anyone that knew me, my friends, my family; a constant quest to be in contact with anyone that was part of my life at one point. I grew weary of my feed being constantly inundated with info about people Id slowly began to lose touch and interest in, so I made a friend purge. Fast forward and Facebook has been invaluable in advertising when and where I was working on which nights. But heres the rub, Im tired of it. Tired of ads that are targeted at me, tired of the constant battle for internet privacy, tired of seeing pics of people I dont even hang out with anymore. So heres the final result: Im quitting Facebook. At the end of this week Im singing off permanently. If you want to follow me on Instagram, my handle is mroike.
