Ok, so obviously the following statement is entirely fictional and completely improbable, but please read on just for fun. In todays world government is no longer for the people by the people. Our nation and all other great nations are controlled largely by special interest groups and companies with annual profits larger than many COUNTRIES annual budgets. Take surely any major oil distributor for instance. Now imagine the people at the top of these organizations have more money and power than all of the worlds governments combined. I would tend to believe that such people would in a sense have a figurative crystal ball that would allow them to see into the future because they are paying for it. Now what do people who have all the money in the world want... More power. How do you do that. Make the people vulnerable. There are many ways to do this, one is to hoard cash and suppress the economy, another is to divide a people against one another with topics like gun control, immigration, gay rights and so on, instill fear (terror), and finally when all else fails disease and famine. So heres where this story goes off the deep end... If I were one of those people gazing into my crystal ball and I knew the world was on the verge of a global pandemic that would all but completely freeze travel, I would lower the cost of my product in order to boost sales as high as possible before it all came screeching to a halt. I know thats just a crazy paranoid story, and our government would never allow anything like that to happen. But, I will keep a close eye on the spread of Ebola and the simultaneous dropping of the price of fuel. Could this be the true beginning of the new world order? Just a little something to think about for bed time.
