Ok then.....this is for you Vintage People out there. You whipper snappers need not pay attention. Who remembers the movie, Bless the Beasts and the Children? Its subject is as timely today as when it came out in 1971. The song Nadias Theme was featured in the film and was them highjacked by that soap opera. Anyway, Ill just quote the info here so I dont have to rewrite it all. The point of all this is because I always liked the song Lost which was also featured in the movie. Oh yea, and I do remember watching Nadia Comaneci as well. De Vorzon and Botkin Jr. composed and wrote lyrics for the melody, originally titled Cottons Dream, as incidental music for the 1971 theatrical film Bless the Beasts and Children. The instrumental version was commercially released on that films soundtrack album on A&M Records. The soundtrack also included Lost, a song set to the same melody but with different lyrics, performed by Renee Armand. Botkin Jr. later composed a rearranged version of the instrumental theme for the U.S. TV soap opera The Young and the Restless, which debuted on March 26, 1973, on the CBS television network. In late July or early August 1976, ABCs sports summary program Wide World of Sports produced a montage of Romanian gymnast Nadia Comănecis routines during the 1976 Summer Olympics[1] and used Cottons Dream as the background music. It was this American television montage that cemented the association of the tune with Comăneci in the public mind. (Comăneci herself never performed her floor exercises using this piece of music, however. She used a piano arrangement of a medley of the songs Yes Sir, Thats My Baby and Jump in the Line.) https://youtube/watch?v=y7iEBL4VaPE
