Ok, there seems to be some confusion so Ive deleted the previous post and have put all the info here: Just a reminder that we need to know whether you want to enter the BUCS competition by THIS MONDAY (5th) of January. The link to check out the details is bucs.org.uk/page.asp?section=17564§ionTitle=Championships The competition is held on the 20th and 21st of February. Wed be travelling to Sheffield late on the 19th (Friday) and travelling back to Aber after the competition ends on the Sunday. Ive looked at hotels - if we want to stay in Sheffield itself, itll cost £75 per room. However, if we stay 11 miles away, its £30 per room per night at a Travelodge (which would be £10 per person per night if we went 3 to a room). We need to book these sooner rather than later, or the other unis will get there before us. If you decide you want to go, please get in touch with me - fb message, email ([email protected]) or text (07916 565188). You can request any equipment you need at the same time - Ill be putting an order in at some point in the next couple of weeks. Ive worked out a special deal with Blitz, so the prices below are a one off offer - if you want anything, now would be the time to get it!! Equipment required for kata: WKF approved red belt - £2 WKF approved blue belt - £2 Equipment required for kumite: Gum Shields - get this from SportsDirect in town WKF style/approved red and blue mitts - £15 per pair WKF style/approved red and blue foot + shin pads - £25 WKF style/approved red and blue belts (as above) Ladies chest protector with vest - £33 Groin guards are strongly recommended - £6 All competitors can ONLY wear the badge of their university on their gi or the gi must be plain white. The above equipment can be used at any WKF competitions we attend through the year, as well as at classes, so its a good investment to make anyway. The chest guard is the same one I have - Ive had it for almost 7 years, so its good quality :) I cant speak for the quality of the groin guards obviously lol If you tell me you want to enter, and I then book/order things in line with that, and you then drop out, Im afraid you will still need to pay for anything done up until you inform me that you have changed your mind - Im sure you understand why. I hope you all consider entering - this promises to be a great starter competition, so it will be a good introduction to competing if youve never done it before :) I need a clear yes or no from you all now please - Ill be booking the hotel within the week.
