Ok, this is the planning notice we found tonight at the Southbank Centre for their Hungerford Bridge skatepark replacement for the iconic 40 year old one they have their minds set on destroying. For those of you who did not object to their previous application and are unfamiliar on how to do so, please follow these instructions: STEP 1: VISIT THIS LINK: planning.lambeth.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=neighbourComments&keyVal=MWX1IYBO03F00 STEP 2: CLICK THE REGISTER TAB (TOP RIGHT OF MENU BAR) AND FILL IN YOUR DETAILS. STEP 3: CLICK THE COMMENT TAB ON LINK IN STEP 1. STEP 4: FILL IN DETAILS AND SELECT APPROPRIATE COMMENTOR TYPE. SELECT OBJECT IN THE STANCE SECTION AND TYPE YOUR COMMENT. STEP 5: CLICK ON THE TRACK BUTTON TO KEEP INFORMED ON THE PLANNING APPLICATIONS .............................................................................................. Recommended grounds on which to object are the following: 1) The current skate space is a cultural landmark hailed as the Birthplace of British skateboarding and is world renowned. It cannot be relocated in any way, shape or form. 2) The undercroft community, Save Our Skatepark - London South Bank , Save Southbank Skate Park and Long Live Southbank campaigns are united in opposition to these plans, as too are the national and international skateboarding communities (all of whom were not consulted throughout its design). 3) The Southbank Centre have devised these plans in the past few months, while completely ignoring the many thousands of members of the public who have previously registered their written objections to the Festival Wing application (which seeks to destroy the current skatepark). They have also ignored the 60,000+ people who have signed the online petition (chn.ge/WwLosq) to show their support for the preservation for the current skatepark and opposition to it being demolished and relocated under Hungerford Bridge.
