Ok time for a small educational lesson. The first condemnation and attempt at divisionary influence over the coming holiday season just crossed my feed. If those that get offended over the phrase Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas insist on the first being an assault upon the Christian faith, here is some factual data. Happy Holidays if one would simply research word etymology should not be offensive at all. Holiday origin is actually Old English for Holy Day. So literally a celebration of a religious day of significance. On the contrary Merry Christmas means a celebration of Christs Mass.... Mass etymological meaning being from Old English and Latin being dismissal... So literally celebrating His violent death. Seems to me the first phrase works much more appropriate in glorifying the day of His birth.
