Ok, to eliminate the texts and phone calls (which I greatly appreciate) Im going to throw it out here. As a bit of history, my dad is a stroke survivor, X6 since February 2010. He has mini strokes often, and he gets through them. Last Saturday, mom and I came around the side of the house to find dad laying in the front yard, his walker on top of him. We assessed him, and thought the best course of action was to call the ambulance (Sean Dawley, Seth Blystone, thanks). Naturally we suspected a stroke, but complaining of back pain too. The stroke symptoms subsided, and he was transported. He was discharged that night, and left for the cabin the next day. Upon his return, mom took him to GBG hospital, for a possible bowel obstruction, which was unfounded. On the 8th day he didnt eat, she returned to GBG hospital. An X-ray revealed a severely fractured T-12, as well as a paralyzed bowel. He has been transported back to York hospital now, where he has met with the trauma surgeon, and moved to ICU. He will be meeting with the nuero surgeon too. He is well sedated, and speaking only brief words (which is somewhat normal now a days). We dont know what the next step is yet, but know he is in the best hospital in the immediate area. Please, dont give us sympathy, or pity. If you pray, feel free to do that for us. If you dont, please send us positive thoughts.
