Ok...twice in a week I have witnessed a hawk raid small birds nest. Were talking finches. Not Jays or Cardinals but finches. Today was just weird though. The birds were squawking on serious high alert for about 10 minutes. Long enough that I grew concerned about where my kitty was. Got this Alfred Hitchcock vision and thought omg, they could be killing my cat. Called Harmony and started walking to the end of the drive. Just then a hawk comes flying out of this tree close enough I can see its eyeballs and has his its talons full with a baby finch. 4 or 6 birds after it and this hawk is flying through my neighborhood like return of the jedi. I was like Omgosh! The Hawks have gone thug! Seriously, when did hawks start raiding trees in residential neighborhoods and flying beneath the branches? Omgosh Zanie is out in the backyard...
