Ok you know I never vent on my facebook and my first life I was head of Athletics and over saw New York for private school athletics with my great committee. Ok here I go. My son places (senior) on HS team. We send him out of the town to play on a division 2 and actually close to div 1 team (comp team) Voted best improved player. My good friend tells me about the comp team and my son improves drastically where his teammates voted him the most improve. So I go to the first two games of the HS season. Plays 7 mins ball never comes his way because team cannot move the ball to his side so he stays in position and marks players so they cannot get the ball. Gets taken out never comes back Game two. Plays 4 mins. Ball again never comes his way. Marks up and gets pulled. Ok I say to myself dont do the parent thing because I been there, done that. I crack and after game approach the coaches. Ask them what about playing time, how is it determined, is my son messing around. There answer is its HS soccer. Ok? So? Well we are trying to win....... Win what. Two games 3 shots on goal. 5 of 16 players senior never get in or place less then two mins total. Ok... I said how can you not play them. Reply If we put them in the team thinks we gave up. What I said? How about they came to practice, worked hard and they need to be supported by their teammates and you put them in gradually? We cant do that. Why? No reply. Ok I said who is in control? They said did you see the goalie scream at me? I said no. I said what did you do? They said what should I do? I said pull them off the field.. No player should verbally abuse a player or coach. Set the tone? I got a stare... OMG. I said would you agree my son is as good if not better then some players? Not the worse right? Why pull him off the field? Anwer? He needs to be friends with the players so they like him and trust him? Trust him? Friends? I said if the ball should be played to a particular player at that time do you not support the player and explain it has to go to the spot? Answer,.,,,, He needs to become friendlier and gain trust in his teammates>.. Have I lost my mind? We are here to win? Thats was the last word said to me; And by the way why did he play in a different team out of his home my town? I responded he can player anywhere he feels good about himself the program. Thats why he plays outside of your program. OMG. I beside myself. Two coaches, no clue, headache and if I drank, I would be drunk and blacked out. Have I lost my mind?
